Yosemite Falls in Spring

Lower Yosemite Falls in Spring

Lower Yosemite Falls with morning light on trees along the trail.

Yosemite Falls, one of the world’s tallest waterfalls, drops a total of 2,425 feet. Yosemite Falls is actually made up of three separate falls: Upper Yosemite Fall (1,430 feet), the middle cascades (675 feet), and Lower Yosemite Fall (320 feet).  Yosemite Falls can be appreciated from multiple viewpoints in Yosemite National park.

This is a wider view looking up at both the upper falls and lower falls. I photographed this minutes before the above image.

Next, here’s a slightly cropped view of the Upper Yosemite Falls from Swinging Bridge as the morning light lit up the trees along the Merced River.

And finally, here’s a view looking down at Yosemite Falls from Glacier Point. You can see a bit of the middle cascade as well from this view.

Yosemite Falls from Glacier Point

The most exciting time to experience Yosemite Falls is spring to early summer when snowmelt from the high country has Yosemite Falls running at peak.

Yosemite Falls is just one of the many beautiful waterfalls in Yosemite National Park.
